Abstract Flower Artworks:
This beautiful art activity takes inspiration from Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser and his famous artwork; Blobs Grow in Beloved Gardens. Your child will love practicing their patterns and lines and the detail involved in this artwork.
Materials:
1 x A4 white card
1 x A5 white card
Pencil
Scissors
Warm & cool oil pastels
1 x black oil pastel
Warm & cool watercolours
Brush
Water bowl
Glue stick
Draw or trace around 6 medium to small circle shapes on your A5 card. A variety of circle sizes is good. Cut out the circles.
Draw different lines and patterns on the circles using a mixture of only the warm oil pastels.
Place your A4 card in landscape view, and draw different lines and patterns horizontally across your page using a mixture of only the cool oil pastels.
Paint the A4 card with cool watercolours, and paint the circles with warm watercolours. Make sure you can still see the oil pastel lines underneath.
Once the paint is dry, place the circles on top of A4 page at various heights in the top half of the page. Glue them down when you're happy with their position.
To finish off, outline the circles with black oil pastel. Draw a stem and leaves on each of the flower circles.
Frame your vibrant and happy artwork for everyone to enjoy!
