Paint brush
Watercolour Paints

Draw some simple images or patterns on the A3 paper with black pen. Try to do the most drawing in the four corners of the page. The centre of the page won't be a visible when it's folded.

Add colour to your drawing with oil pastels. If you have a white oil pastel this creates a great effect when painted over with watercolour paint. Paint all, or some of your page with watercolour paints

Once your picture is dry, fold the page length ways in a concertina fold.

When the whole page is folded into a long strip, fold the long strip exactly in half.

Use a stapler to join the middle edges of the picture to close the fan.

Staple the bottom of the fan where you'd hold it. Wrap tape around this join to keep it together securely.

Flap away and enjoy your fan as a useful piece of art, or hang it up as a decoration.
